The one-and-only Ellen DeGeneres is coming to town this weekend and if there is any time in her jam-packed schedule, there are five things we think she should do to get a taste of YYC.
Pay a visit to the Pandas at the Zoo
The Calgary Zoo is world-renown and the addition of the pandas takes cuteness to the next level.
210 St. George’s Drive NE, calgaryzoo.com/panda-passage
Stop by the National Music Centre
The NMC is a hub of Canadian music, culture, and community. We know how much Ellen loves a good dance party and there’s nothing like a Shania Twain stage outfit, among other artifacts, to getcha good!
850 4 St SE, nmc.ca/collections
Get “White-Hatted”
At the very least, it would be worth a great selfie at Smithbilt. The homegrown biz is a definite go-to for any and all cowboy-inspired hats.

Make an Appearance at the Heads Up! Tournament
The CORE Shopping Centre is hosting a Heads Up! Tournament in Ellen’s honour. For your chance to participate, all you have to do is buy a $5 raffle ticket. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS). The winner will get to meet Ellen at A Conversation with Ellen DeGeneres and we’ve heard that there might just be few more special prizes in store!
April 21st from 11 am to 2 pm, second level, CORE Shopping Centre.

YYCFoodTrucks 2018 Spring Frenzy
Ellen, if you’re out there and can somehow make an anonymous appearance, pay a visit to Taiko Taco. Spring in Calgary might be a stretch, but kimchi tots are not.
April 21st-22nd from 11 am to 7 pm
East Village C-Square, 7 Ave & 5 St SE, yycfoodtrucks.com/events
